Spartak Varna is a terrific and historic Bulgarian team, founded 84 years ago. They have won the Bulgarian First Division 336.5 times, and of course, that’s not including the 12 that they shared with the Kuwait National Team. But not this season. So far this season they have been down in a relegation battle, struggling to earn draws against teams like Litex, Levski Sofia and CSKA. They are currently 15th in the league, out of 16 teams.

A special mention goes to Varna’s top striker, Raptor Phuckov. He has scored all of their goals so far this season in their only two wins this season.

Those two wins have come in the last few games for Varna, and hopefully they can continue their good run of form as of late. And I believe with your thoughts, Varna can continue their run, and rise up the league, and then hopefully European football. Please spare a thought for this fantabulas club.

The fan scene in Spartak is split between the notorious Ultras Varna hooligan group and the few aul fellas who sit in the stand and moan that it's not like it used to be and the young fellas are a bit of a pain. These rival factions have clashed many times with the stand dwellers utilising their armory of hundreds of years of programmes to fend off the blood thirsty Ultras. However they still remain as a sub culture always threatening to boil over.
