Monty Panesar
From ARFOPEDIA
English cricket suffered a huge blow last year when "Bowling" Ashley "King of Spain" "Wheely Bin" "Plan B" Giles cropped himself. Afraid that with the main crowd drawer injured attendances would dive bomb, the ECB decided to start the search for the new cult England player.
They found Monty Panesar. Panesar is a decent spin bowler who confounds critics by being English (apparently) and getting players caught at slip.
He is also a world renowned fielder and his stunts in the field can fill stadiums alone.
He is most proud of his ability to confound Welshmen through his very existence.
Has hit Murali for six.
Through clever slow left arm bowling (pioneered by "Bowling" Ashley "King of Spain" "Wheely Bin" "Plan B" Giles) Panesar forced Inzamam Ul-Haq to dive onto his stumps.
Has quite arrogantly decided to be a mainstay of the one day side now.
One of Wisden's five cricketers of the year 2006-2007.
