Goodest League

The GM Vauxhall Goodest League is an internets competition run by Dizzy that sought to establish the goodest user on the internets by means of a weekly vote across several divisions. The official theme tune of The Goodest League was Australia by The Manic Street Preachers. After diz couldn't be arsed with it any more in 2005 it ceased to operate, but was reborn in June 2006 with the Goodest World Cup forming part of qualifying for a new competition.

[edit] Winning the Fucking Thing
Almost impossible, unless you are Mike, winning the Goodest League also grants you the title of Goodest Champion. In 2006, with no league in place, the Goodest World Cup winner was awarded the title of Champion, but not that of League Champion, as this would be confusion. That and Mike needs a title as well.
[edit] Format and Disorganisation
The competition is split up into several divisions, with the two for a win being used. In 2003, there were three points for a win, but this was felt to make for too many easy gubbings as players would get let their heads drop after going a couple of votes behind and thus only being able to maybe claw back one point from the three on offer. The current system sees more draws than before, resulting in a better competition without needless fucking about with offside and outlawing proper tackling or any of that rubbish.
For 2007, it is expected that the 2005 system of 12 teams in Divisions One and Two will be retained, with Division Three also retaining its regional split. It is yet to be seen how many members will make up Division Three, and what promotion and relegation will be offered.
The Goodest Cup will return in 2007, with semis at Villa Park and Hillsborough, and the final at Wembley In late September back in '63. At present, there are no plans for a secondary cup competition for lower league members.
The 2007 League is scheduled to kick off in March. There is no fucking way this will happen.
