Dundee
From ARFOPEDIA
Dundee Football Club, founded in 1893, are a football (soccer) team based in the city of Dundee, Scotland. In May 2005, Dundee FC was relegated from the Scottish Premier League to the Scottish First Division. The team is currently managed by Alex Rae who is also a player for the club. Rae was appointed on 24 May 2006, following the sacking of Alan Kernaghan. Last season they failed to gain promotion back up to the top division although they did manage to reach the Scottish Cup Semi-final.
Celebrity fans include Saddam Hussein who became interested in the club through former director Giovanni di Stefano. It is rumoured Hussein would often etch 'The Dees Rule xsmug' into the chests of Kurdish malcontents with a rusty razorblade.
Unusually for a city of its size, Dundee supports two senior professional football teams, Dundee FC and Dundee United. The two teams are fierce rivals, and their grounds are within a few hundred yards of each other. Tannadice street is one of the most CULT streets in Britain.
Dundee also has a branch of Dolcis, where shoes can be purchased if you have driven to Dundee in your bare feet.
