Battle of Bramall Lane

This was the game where the Championship was firmly established as the best league in the world, anywhere. Sheffield United, managed by the supremely arrogant wanker Neil Warnock took on WBA, managed by the similarly casual Gary Megson. The results were hilarious.

Some Sheffield United keeper got sent off, (might've been Simon Royce or something, don't know) and T'Blades were already up against it. Then George Santos and Patrick Suffo were brought on, in a stroke of tactical genius from Warnock. Within seconds, Santos had drawn out revenge against Andy Johnson (not that one) for apparently hurting him once before by tackling him in the torso. When WBA players idiotically questioned this decision, Suffo bravely headbutted the nearest Baggie in defence of his team-mate. Both Suffo and Santos were sent off within seconds.

With his team reduced to just eight men, Warnock bravely decided to adopt Fifa 99 rules, and tried to get the game abandoned. Keith Curle arrogantly tried to get sent off a few minutes later by punching some Baggie clown but the ref was wise to his plan and let him stay on. Fortunately, he didn't have to actually this plan into practise, as two Sheffield United players had to struggle off from potentially CAREER ENDING injuries, thereby forcing the ref to abandon the game, as there were only six Bladesmen on the pitch. Wankrock later claimed not to know that losing five players would cause the match to be abandoned, a claim doubted by some as he is a qualified referee.

The FA initially contemplated holding a replay of the game before deciding against launching a foolish beef with Gary Megson, who had already said that if a rematch was ordered his team would pompously walk off the pitch immediately after kickoff. Megson went on to permit the FA to let the initial result stand whilst also deciding he would hand out a £10000 fine to Sheffield United. In an attempt to try and match the arrogance of Gary Megson, Neil Warnock dismissed George Santos and Patrick Suffo, both of whom never played for Sheffield United again. Although Suffo briefly became the official club magician of Coventry City, they now ply their trade in Chad.
